FAQ

What staking system should be used with the tips?

We advise all bets to be laid to earn 1 unit profit per bet, unless the odds for a horse goes below 1/1 (evens) in which case our stake should be changed to risk 1 unit of our stake instead, so as to maximise profits.

For example, when we lay Horsey A at 3.50 odds, we lay 1 point of our bank for the lay bet.  When we encounter Horsey B at 1.30 odds (below evens), we adjust our stake until the total risk is equivalent to 1 point of our bank instead.  Please email us if you require more information or help.

How do we Lay horses?

Laying horses means that we are betting on a horse NOT TO WIN their races. This method of betting has come about due to the advert of new technologies such as Betfair, SportingOdds etc.

To Lay a horse, simply go to any one of the online bookmakers that offer Lays such as www.betfair.com. Select the horse and race that we advice on and click on "Lay". Enter the amount of stakes that you wish. Do email us if you need more help in understanding Laying.

Is it possible to make long term profits from laying horses?

Absolutely. People have the traditional impression that laying horses is risky because it requires a good tip source, and it is difficult to find services which can offer consistently good profits.

We however, are one of the few services who CAN find profitable lays at a high consistent strike rate. This is reflected and proven in our results, and debunks the myth that it is not possible to make long term profits from laying horses.

What are the odds of the horses that you normally advice your Lays on?

We normally advice Lays on lower odds horses as it is less risky to the members' bank. Also, an accidental winning horse at lower odds will also not damage the bank too much, thus allowing very consistent profits which add up over a period of time. We aim to keep our members profits rising consistently all the time, avoiding big ups and downs in their banks which can make their betting a stressful experience.

Why don't we give lengthy "explanations" of the day's racing and the lays advised?

Sure we can churn out reams of "explanations" on why a horse will lose. But we believe that most punters value their time and don't want to wade through long emails or explanations. They just want to know what horse to focus on and a short succinct advise allows them to get on the betting action as soon as possible.

Do we give free trials of the service?

No we do not as free trials are easily open to abuse by people using fake emails. We however, regularly proof our results to the Racing Index so you can be assured of our honesty.

Does our low fee reflect the quality of our selections, and the profits made?

We could easily charge double our current fee for the quality of our information supplied. You will be hard pressed to find other services which are as profitable as us whilst charging a low fee. Our service evolved from humble roots and thus we understand that not many punters can afford the high fees associated with many tipping services. We always aim to provide profits to our members at the lowest price possible.

What races do we concentrate on?

We focus on English & Scottish races, although we have plans to include Irish & International races in the future.

Is there a member limit for the service?

Yes we do have a subscription limit as we do not want to inflate the market & exchange prices.

Why do you use a free website host? Isn't it unprofessional?

Our decision to be hosted by a free web server is to keep our costs as low as possible so that we are able to charge a low fee to our members. We believe that this is more important to them than the superficial appearance of a website, which can often be very misleading. We do however have plans to move to a new server in the future as our expansion plans may go beyond our current host server's capacity.

New information will always be added here. Stay tuned!!
